ANIBIOX is built by one person who cares about the community. Your privacy matters — this isn't just legal boilerplate. Here's exactly what we do (and don't do) with your data, written in plain English.
1. What We Collect (and What We Don't)
We only collect what's necessary for the platform to work. When you create an account: your email address, your chosen username and display name, and your profile settings (avatar, bio, banner). Your anime vault, ratings, and watch progress are stored locally in your browser by default — they never leave your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync. We don't collect your real name, address, phone number, or any sensitive personal information.
2. How We Use Your Data
Simple: your data is used to make ANIBIOX work for you. That means keeping your anime list synced, showing your stats on the profile page, and personalizing your experience. We don't analyze your data to sell you things, build advertising profiles, or share it with anyone. That's a promise.
3. Ads & What That Means for Your Privacy
To keep this platform free for everyone, we display small contextual ads provided by Google AdSense or a similar service. These ads use cookies to show relevant content. We chose a contextual approach specifically because it's less invasive — ads are matched to page content, not to your personal behavior profile. You can opt out of personalized ads using the Ad Choices page or your browser's privacy settings. We will never show pop-ups, auto-play video ads, or intrusive formats.
4. Cookies
We use cookies for: keeping you logged in, saving your preferences (dark mode, language), and the ad service described above. We do not use tracking pixels or fingerprinting. You can manage or clear cookies at any time from your browser settings. For full details see our Cookie Policy.
5. Third-Party APIs
ANIBIOX pulls all anime metadata from AniList's public GraphQL API. When the site makes API calls, AniList may log standard request information (like your IP address) under their own privacy policy. We don't send any of your personal account data to AniList. Firebase powers authentication and optional cloud sync — they have their own privacy standards and are GDPR-compliant.
6. We Do Not Sell Your Data
Full stop. We are a fan-run project with no advertising partnerships beyond standard contextual ad networks. Your email, your watchlist, your ratings — none of it is sold, rented, or traded with any third party. Ever.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data at any time. You can delete your account from your profile settings — this permanently removes your cloud data within 30 days. For any data request, just email us and we'll handle it personally.
8. Young Users
ANIBIOX is for users 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. Some anime in our catalog includes mature themes, and our sign-up process requires age confirmation for this reason.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we update this policy in a meaningful way, we'll post about it and update the date below. Small changes (typo fixes, clarifications) happen without notice. Big changes that affect your rights will be communicated clearly.
